The beautiful display of items made by the Sew-N-Sews

Were you able to attend the Community Days last month? If you were, you probably saw the display of beautiful items created by Sew-N-Sew members. This is a very talented group!

Are you interested in learning more about the Sew-N-Sews? Are you in need of inspiration to get those creative juices flowing? Or perhaps you’re interested in learning to sew. We cover all areas of sewing, quilting, machine embroidery and even hand embroidery from beginner to advanced. We have experienced members who teach these classes, and we even have machines that you can use.

If this sounds interesting to you, be sure to attend our next general meeting on Wednesday, November 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club, which is located on Sun Lakes Blvd. just south of Riggs Road. Not sure where that is? Check out your Source Book (every S.L. resident receives one). There is a fold-out map of Sun Lakes right after page 328. We’ll also have a “member sale” at that meeting. Some of the members will have displays of items for sale which they’ve made. Gift shoppers are invited to join us. You will find beautiful items that will make great Christmas gifts!

After a short business meeting, our program will be our own Sandy Bealmear demonstrating various creative ways to use a scarf for accent. You’ll also see a display of upcoming classes. The classes are for members only, so you may be interested in joining Sew-N-Sew just to take a specific class.

We meet on the second Wednesday of the month, September through May, at 1:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. Your first year membership is $25 and includes a nametag, and renewals are $15 per year. Come and see what we’re all about!
