Even an untrained eye will appreciate the details that went into the creation of the beautiful 30th year Anniversary quilt hung proudly in Lindsay Hall at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church.

Cheryl Wessels was the motivator and quilter behind the project. Cheryl and husband Bill travel the U.S. as relief volunteers and have attended church in many states where they saw anniversary quilts. When the Sun Lakes Methodist Church announced a 30th anniversary celebration, she volunteered to head up the quilt project saying, “It will be done for the glory of God.”

The quilt is comprised of 30 different squares made by Mary VandeBerg, Joyce Aune, Joyce Dulaney, Andrea Hummel, Nan Keller, Shirley Marshall, Del Thomas, Carol Elliott, Sue Agnew, Coeta Sanders, Darlene White, Pat Andersen, Phyllis Schurz, Deb Ralston, Carolyn Luse, Cheryl Wessels, Carol Nicholas, Ev Rainwater, Karen Stock, Mary Louise Lansbarkis, Peggy Humphreys, Darlene Carmer, Sharon Hull, Brenda Cramer, Sharon Freeman, Pat Stoner, Mary Stufflebeam, Joan Loose, Howard Strouse and Linda Rauch.
