Sun Lakes Chorale—Back to Work

Yvonne Orlich

We hope everyone has enjoyed the spring and summer months, excessive heat notwithstanding. When the outside temperature is over 100 degrees, it is hard to imagine getting ready for a Holiday Concert, but that’s where we will be in just a few more weeks. The Sun Lakes Chorale will resume practicing in early September, all to prepare for our annual Holiday Concert on Thursday, Dec. 12. As quickly as spring and summer passed is just how quickly the time from September to December will pass. The saying, “time flies,” surely applies.

Every year when we gather again to start a new season, we are energized and enthusiastic. The same is true this year, and we are excited to be led by a new director, Rob Swanson, who was introduced to you all here in the Splash over the summer. We are anxious to start practicing all the numbers Rob has chosen. He has selected some outstanding numbers, new and old, for the Holiday Concert, and we are certain no one will be disappointed.

In the meantime, we will host a table at each of the upcoming Open Houses throughout our Sun Lakes communities. Those dates are as follows: Cottonwood on Oct. 7, Sun Lakes Country Club on Oct. 12, and IronOaks on Oct. 26. If you attend any of these Open Houses, please be sure to stop by the Sun Lakes Chorale table and meet some of our members, learn a little more about us, pick up info on our Holiday Concert, and maybe even purchase advance tickets for the concert.

So, mark your calendars now for the Open Houses and the Holiday Concert on Dec. 12. We hope to see and meet many of you in the near future. Stay cool and stay safe until then.
