SLCC Golf Club Lounge and Pro Shop is now open

The renovation process is completed and the Golf Club Lounge and Pro Shop are now open to serve guests once again!

Come down and enjoy an evening with us in our improved accommodations. Entertainment is provided on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting at 7:00 p.m.; check our online calendar at www.sunlakescountryclub.com for entertainment details!

While the building has been open for service since the end of July, please keep an eye out for the announcement of our official grand opening which will take place in November once the winter visitors have returned. We look forward to serving you in our new Lounge and Pro Shop! We hope to see you soon! v

Changes coming to the Sunset Grill Restaurant

The Sunset Grill has been working very hard to provide our homeowners with the best possible food options at the best price possible. In previous months, improvements have been made in every area from quality of food to staffing and the serving process. All of these improvements and additions are being made in the best interest of our valued homeowners.

The Sunset Grill is pleased to announce new events and improved menus in September.

Every first Sunday of the month we will be offering our Omelet Station. From 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. stop in and get a made-to-order omelet with a featured side item for only $6. As always, our entire menu will be made available as well.

Starting in September, a new breakfast and lunch menu will be made available to our guests. We have been taking a close look at sales and the variety of items we offer. We are proud of this new menu and hope our guests will all come in and see the new items we have to offer.

Keep an eye out for advertisements about our new weekly dinners. We will be offering dinner service with a regular dinner menu on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. These dinners will be full service, will have a full bar available and will be absolutely delicious! Please keep in mind that while we plan on doing these weekly dinners on a consistent basis, we may have to occasionally cancel a dinner service due to a previously scheduled event. The Sunset Grill will do everything in its power to notify our guests in advance when this happens.

In addition to dinners, keep an eye out for our new happy hour dates and time featuring snacks, drink specials and various themed events.

Please give a warm welcome to our newest member of the Sunset Grill staff, Chef Blake Weisenbach. Blake is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. He has more than 10 years of experience in food preparation, menu creation, food cost, inventory control and responsibility for the overall kitchen operation. In his most recent position Blake was the head chef at a restaurant in Alaska and during the off season was the lead sauté cook at the Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort. His experience is enhanced by his certifications from Certified Food Protection Manager, to Safe-Serv.

The addition of our new events and dinners are possible in large part because of Chef Blake, the newest addition to our staff. Sun Lakes Country Club is thrilled to have such a talented chef on our team.

As always, the Sunset Grill is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. throughout the year. Stop in and see all the great things we’ve been up to! Keep an eye out for our upcoming dinners and other fun events.

UpTown Art Painting Class and Happy Hour

Join us for an afternoon of painting and drinks with your friends! UpTown Art brings painting to you with an all-inclusive class that will allow you to leave with your very own masterpiece. The cost of the event includes all the materials you will need, personalized instruction and a complimentary glass of wine. Follow along as an UpTown Artist leads the entire class through painting the selected event picture. Not an artist? That’s okay! The instructors are there to make it easy for you to follow along and will help individuals as needed.

A cash bar will be available for additional alcoholic beverages. Bring your best friend and buy a bottle of wine to share or purchase drinks by the glass.

Fight the Seasonal Flu with a Flu Shot

Advanced sign up information is mandatory.

Sign up in the SLCC Clubhouse lobby to receive your flu shot sponsored by Safeway’s Pharmacy. Please make sure to bring your medical insurance card the day the flu shot is administered. Safeway will bill the flu vaccine to the homeowner’s prescription insurance. If the homeowner does not have insurance, the cost of the flu vaccine is $25. Diamondbacks Bus Trip to Chase Field with All-You-Can-Eat Food!

The next trip of the season will be on Wednesday, September 17 for the Diamondbacks vs. Giants game. Bus picks up outside the SLCC Clubhouse at 11:30 a.m., game time is 12:40 p.m. Tickets are $39 each. Tickets include round-trip bus ride and a ticket to the game in the All You Can Eat Section which includes free and unlimited hot dogs, chips, popcorn and soda. Handicap seating is available with advanced notice. Please note that Chase Field is a large stadium and some walking is required. Wheelchairs can be made available with advanced notice. Questions? Sunday Omelet Station is Back at the Sunset Grill

Join us on the first Sunday of each month for our featured omelette station from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Arizona Room; the cost is $6 and includes a made-to-order omelette served with a featured side item. We hope to see you there!

Friday Night Fish Fry

Come enjoy our famous Friday Night Fish Fry dinners at the Sunset Grill in the Arizona Room! Cocktail hour starts at 4:30 p.m., dinner is served at 5:00 p.m. Advanced tickets are not required for this event.

For $10.95 per person you will get hand-dipped fried cod, fresh French fries or baked potato and a salad bar. However, the salad bar may be purchased a la’ carte for $6.95!

Team Trivia

Team Trivia is a live hosted trivia game. Play as a solo player or bring your friends to lend a helping hand or mind. Compete against other teams for prizes! Our categories include everything from history, TV, sports, geography, music and just about anything else you can think of. So if you want to show your competition how smart you are this is your chance! And maybe, just maybe, you’ll win a prize for playing.

There is no cost or obligation to play. All materials will be provided free of charge. Just bring yourself and a desire to have some fun! There will be a cash bar available and a chance to win prizes and enter to win the 50/50 raffle!
