The Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation, or as we often refer to ourselves as SLJC, is prepared for a fantastic month of March.

Our service will take place on Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel in Sun Lakes. This is the month we honor our glorious choir and its director Lana Oyer. SLJC invites and encourages all who are unaffiliated to come and join us. See what we’re all about and give us a chance to welcome you. We know you’ll like what you find!

SLJC is also sponsoring the second, and final panel in its Life Cycle Series. The date is Tuesday, March 24, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the chapel in Sun Lakes. This program will revolve around rituals and beliefs about death and the afterlife, as viewed by different faiths and members of various communities. Panelists include Dr. M Zuhdi Jasser, Muslim; Angela Garcia-Lewis, Native American; Asuncion Murga, Hispanic; Pastor Mitch McDonald, Evangelical Christian; Rabbi Irwin Wiener, Jewish. We expect another huge crowd for this event. The first in the series, which was held in January, saw over 200 in attendance! If you couldn’t make it in January, be sure to join us on the 24th! The program is open to the public at no charge. Donations are gratefully accepted to benefit the Sun Lakes Chapel Board.
