For some residents of Arizona, this writer included, getting into the holiday spirit here in the middle of the desert can be challenging. Where is the snow and cold, crisp air to go along with the Christmas music and the décor? It is not always easy to adjust to open doors and windows during the holiday season. It is nice, make no mistake, but maybe your Christmas and holiday mood needs a boost!

Well, the Sun Lakes Chorale has just the solution for you: Our annual Holiday Concert! This year’s concert will be Thurs., December 12, 2019. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on Riggs in Chandler. The concert will present fantastic Christmas carols, holiday songs, solos, and group numbers presented by our members and musical accompaniments by talented musicians. We will have you tapping your toes, humming along—or joining in—and being catapulted from the pre-holiday blues to the “Wow, it’s almost Christmas!” in one great evening. You won’t even miss the snow and frost anymore. You’ll leave feeling uplifted, smiling, and ready for the upcoming holidays..

While tickets will be available on performance night, you can avoid those lines at the door. As in the past, the $10 tickets will be available from ANY Chorale member, and we will have ticket sales set up at Ace Hardware on Riggs (just east of Dobson) on the following dates: Tuesdays, Nov. 19 and 26; and Tuesdays, Dec. 3 and 10. The times for each date are 10:00 a.m. to noon. You may also call 602-430-4787 for any further information you might need.

Please join us on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the United Methodist Church on Riggs in Chandler to enjoy the fruits of our hard work. We have already had several rehearsals, and we are sounding better and better each week. And it’s all for your enjoyment and entertainment. You will not be disappointed.
