January’s Black and White Ball dinner dance was sensational! The reception provided hors d’oeuvres, including a selection of crab tortilla that was spectacular, served with champagne, while Kregg Barentine provided live instrumental music. The ballroom was beautifully decorated, and as the evening progressed, the dinner was scrumptious and the service prompt and courteous thanks to the Cottonwood staff. The Swingtips provided the best band performance we have ever had! Just wonderful! The dancing went on for hours. Everyone had a great time!

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Cotillion Dance Club will present the Top Hats and Cocktails Soiree. This dinner dance will be held at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom in Sun Lakes. The dance is a formal affair (tux for the gentlemen and gown for the ladies). The reception begins at 5:45 p.m. with live instrumental music provided by Angelo Valente and will feature champagne, imported and domestic cheese and crackers, and Chinese egg rolls.

The dinner menu will feature a salad of mixed spring greens served with ranch or golden Italian vinaigrette dressing on the side and warm rolls and butter. The entrée selections are prime rib (prime rib of beef served with au jus and creamy horseradish) or chicken cordon bleu (chicken breast stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese), both served with mashed potatoes with chef’s homestyle brown gravy and sweet corn and peppers medley, and carrot cake with cream cheese icing for dessert. The dietary meal is red snapper with puttanesca sauce, baked potato, and sweet corn and peppers medley, with flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

We will be featuring music by Route 66 in a special configuration that includes vocals by Angelo Valente and Kathy Bradford. The band begins their first of three dance sets at 7 p.m.

The group lesson for this dance will be on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 10 a.m. until noon in the Sun Lakes clubhouse Mirror Room (Sun Lakes Phase 1). Featured dance step is the cha cha. Oliver Dominguez from Fred Astaire Dance Studio is scheduled to teach. You do not need a reservation to attend the group lesson. You can pay the $5 fee (per person) for your group lesson when you arrive at the Mirror Room.
