Try to Remember

Roger Bonngard

Try to remember the ‘50s so splendored,

When life was slow and oh so mellow.

Try to remember the fun times passed,

When we smelled meadow flowers and freshly cut grass.

Try to remember the school days in September,

When we were so tender, innocent and kind.

Try to remember and if you remember,

Then enjoy and savor them all in your mind!

Try to remember when life was so tender,

And no one was sad, most were happy and glad.

We’ve lived during the best time of our world,

When life and love was an ember our spirits unfurled.

Try to remember and if you remember,

Then enjoy and savor them all in your mind!

Deep now in our December it’s nice to remember,

Although we know some troubles will follow.

Deep in our December it’s nice to remember,

Without our hurts, our hearts would be hollow!

The years of our past have kept us so mellow,

Creating our friendships and love that truly has followed.

Try to remember, and if you remember your joys of life

And the love in you, your legacy will surely follow!

Try to remember, Yes, Try to Remember!
