Why take an art class?

Jean Anderson

There are several reasons to sign up for classes. You learn something new to keep your brain going, it’s social, and it’s a great way to make friends. We all yearn to be creative, and it will make you happier when you do something creative. Most people come because they know they won’t paint if they don’t have the discipline of a class. Some get stale doing the same things and want new ideas and challenges. I’m sure some people come because we laugh and have fun.

My name is Jean Anderson and I teach watercolor and some acrylic classes in Sun Lakes and SunBird.

If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint, I’m starting a new beginners classes the week of November 4. If you are a painter who has experience but wants more, I have classes for intermediate starting that week.

I’d love for you to come paint with us. I will have classes available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday this season, so there should be a time that fits for you. It’s my mission to make these classes as much fun as possible and still give the students real value for their time and money.

Please contact me at Jean Anderson, 503-649-9097 or [email protected]. I’d love to talk to you.

Just so you know, you do not need to know how to draw. I’ll show you how to work around that. You do not have to have artistic genes, whatever you think those are. No, you aren’t too old to do this. Learning something new is the best thing you can do for your mind. Not only that, my classes attract the coolest people. They are kind, fun, and we laugh a lot, but not at each other. If you want to learn how to paint quickly in a fun, non-threatening environment, give me a call and I’ll tell you everything you need to know.

If you don’t start now, you’ll regret it.
