On March 10, nine Sun Lakes community volunteers were honored at the annual Crystal Awards Banquet. Over 200 people attended to celebrate the dedicated efforts of this year’s recipients – Jeanne Becker, Dick Eslick, Judy Gahide, Bill Gates, Herb Lienenbrugger, Mary Middleton, Frank Gould, Richard Hawkes and George Thomas.

Guests enjoyed a social hour with piano music provided by IronOaks resident Joe D’Amore. Rev. Marvin Arnpriester of Sun Lakes United Methodist Church gave the invocation. After the elegant three-course dinner, Charlene Petragallo hosted the presentation of this year’s awards.

Thanks go to the three homeowners associations, IronOaks, Cottonwood Palo Verde and Sun Lakes Country Club, for their continuing support of the Crystal Award program and to this year’s corporate sponsors, Blue Star Resort and Golf, A-1 Golf Carts, Right Away Disposal, Sustainable Landscape Services, Cactus Mountain Properties, Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation, Safeway and UPS at Chandler Heights and Alma School, whose generosity made this event such a success.
