Sun Lakes community, you’ve done it again! The 18th Annual Diamond Lake Luminaria and Food Donation Walk on Dec. 10 and 11 was an overwhelming success thanks to your continued support of this annual event. AZCEND (our local food bank in Chandler) has expressed their gratitude for helping so many people in need during these tough economic times. Your total monetary and nonperishable food donations provided an amount of 8,130 meal equivalents, which will certainly help those in need.

We want to give many thanks to Unit 36C for working together to make this event such a success, by volunteering to decorate their backyards, placing luminarias around Diamond Lake, being greeters at the lake entrances, providing crowd control, and doing publicity for this event. We also want to thank the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse for providing traffic control officers for everyone’s safety during both evenings. Thank you to Fred Smith (keyboard and sing-along}
and Janae Dunn (vocals), along with Caleb Friese (acoustic guitar), who entertained us to make this event very festive! It takes many volunteers working many hours to make this event happen!

Again, thank you, Sun Lakes, for supporting this fun community event.
