On December 6, the Sun Lakes Lions Club hosted its Lions International Peace Poster awards ceremony. This program encourages young people ages 11 to 13 to create a poster depicting “Kindness Matters” for this year.

Locally, 15 students in the Chandler Unified School District submitted posters for evaluation. Our club agreed to send the poster submitted by Alexandra Adams of Ryan Elementary forward for state judging.

She won at that level, and her poster has been sent to Lions International for further review.

The International winner will receive a $5,000 award and a trip to New York.

All 15 students received a cash donation from Intel and an award certificate.
