AAUW welcomes guest speaker on April 15

Nancy Yeamans, Ph.D., Psychologist, will be the guest speaker at the Southeast Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) on April 15, 2019, in the ballroom at Oakwood Country Club. Social Hour begins at 6:30 p.m., and the speaker and meeting begin at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Yeamans’ presentation will be “The Impact of Humor and Joy in Our Lives.”

Dr. Nancy Yeamans has several interesting aspects in her life. By day, “Dr. Nancy” is a psychologist in private practice in the East Valley. She provides treatment for a variety of conditions including anxiety, depression, chronic pain and brain injury recovery. Dr. Nancy enjoys working with clients in a strategic way to improve coping strategies and mood management skills. Dr. Nancy strives to help people develop a more positive mood and outlook on life. She is also a trained standup comic and has performed for comedy clubs, civic, corporate and charity fundraiser events. Dr. Nancy believes that “laughing more is living better.” She has authored a treatment book and has written several dog cartoon books including Canine Wisdom, Canine Wisdom: Wiser and Wiser and Dog Smarts. Dr. Nancy enjoys providing upbeat, interactive workshops where participants learn the value of laugher, humor and play… and how to bring more of it into their lives!
