Looking for a way to express yourself? Looking for a great group of folks to encourage you? Look no further. Desert Artists Club (DAC) is currently accepting new members. We are a diverse group of artists that work in many mediums: watercolor, oil, acrylics, scratchboard, gourd painting and design, ink, pastels, pencils and more. We paint flowers, still life, landscapes, portraits, cards and so on.

We have had a busy summer with seven new members joining our group. We have had an art supply swap/sale for those changing mediums, or just wanting to downsize their supplies. We plan to have another one in the fall. It’s a great way to stock up on things you want/need to get for your projects.

We are planning a group trip to the Basha Gallery. A tutorial on tricks and tips of hanging artwork, the proper way. Another swap/sale of supplies and more. We are always open to suggestions on what artists want or need, to improve their skills, or even try something new.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 14 in the Arts and Crafts Room of SLCC, at 9:30 a.m. We invite welcome you to stop by and see what we are all about. And look for us at the Open Houses of our communities. We will be at Oakwood on October 15. Look for more info in the next issue of the Splash.

Come join us!
