Yes it’s 2017 and it’s going to be a very interesting year – just follow the Tweets.
The Palo Verde Men’s Golf Association is continuing its active schedule, and here is what happened most recently:
On December 17, the 2016 Ace of Ace’s event was completed. The overall Gross Champion, with a score of 67 (wow!) is Stan Mohoric! The overall Net Champion, with a score of 53 (also wow!) is Dan Bottiglieri.
An afternoon 1 BB contest was won by Gene Wenger, Don Hicks, Paul Rogers and Buster Crook with a score of 45.
On December 24, a Designated Driver format was won by Gene Wenger, Ken Pearson, Richard Hair and Joe Lombardo with a score of 101.
On New Year’s Eve, a morning 1 Gross, 1 Net Tournament was won by almost half of the PVMGA membership: Jerry Davis, Dan Savard, Duane Enzminger and Budd Livingstone; Stan Mohoric, Bob Carlson, Marty Neilson and Don Wall; and Mike Lorimer, Adrian Barber, Bob Mansfield and Bob Kruse, with scores of 111. The afternoon version was won by Ben Caviness, Mike Tennant, Frank Broley with a blind draw and Don Grossart, Tim Lamb, David Sheer and John Lefebvre with scores of 119.
On January 7, a Member/Member (sad-1 Net) challenge was held in the morning hours. The flight winners were #1 Charlie Healy and Pat Holien; #2 Terry Thomas and Rich Sorenson; #3 Norm Allard and John Ridd; #4 Jeff Martin and Jim Peck.
An afternoon 1 Gross + 1 Net contest was held that afternoon.
Future scheduled events include the President’s Cup Tournament, with morning rounds on January 28 and February 4. Afternoon events will follow; a Select-a-Drive on January 28, 2017, and at BB’s Net on February 4, 2017.
A “Sweetheart” Tournament on the morning of February 11, followed by lunch; a 2 BB’s contest in the afternoon.
A Home & Home Tournament with Fountain of the Sun CC will be held on the mornings of February 16, 2017, at Fountain of the Sun and February 18, 2017, at Palo Verde. A Select-a-Drive event will be held on the afternoon of February 18, 2017.
The Palo Verde Club Championship will be held on February 25 and March 4!
