Stay Off The Ladder is a free Sun Lakes community service project offered by the Redeemed Team at Realty ONE Group!
Suzy Steinmann and Michelle Hudak, local realtors from the Redeemed Team, started this program last year, because they saw a huge need for this type of service in their community.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), falls are now the number one reason for accidental injuries and deaths each year for seniors.
Suzy and Michelle volunteer every Thursday afternoon to come out and replace smoke alarm batteries, A/C filters, and lightbulbs, for people in the neighborhood so they can stay safe and off the ladder.
Both the Sun Lakes Fire Department and Neighbors Who Care used to offer this service but suspended all activity until further notice due to COVID-19.
But, pandemic or not, people still need help, so Stay Off The Ladder will continue to provide this service.
Suzy and Michelle will come to your home, wearing a mask for your safety, and will leave with a smile, because they truly love giving back to the community that helps put food on their tables.
Look for their signature purple truck with the bright yellow magnets that say “call about Stay Off The Ladder” driving through the community each week!
If you want to take advantage of this free community service, please email your requests to [email protected] and answer the following seven questions:
1. Name
2. Street address
3. Phone number
4. Email address
5. What do you need us to help you with?
6. Do you have the replacement items, or do we need to bring them? (We have donations from our First Annual Sun Lakes Music In The Park event from last year.)
7. Do you have a ladder tall enough to do the job, or do we need to bring one?
Suzy and Michelle are full-time realtors with a combined experience of over 35 years, doing a majority of their business in the Sun Lakes community. They work equally with buyers, sellers, and investors. In addition, they also sponsor one of the men’s senior softball teams, also named the Redeemed Team.
Last year, they sponsored the First Annual Music In The Park event at the Field of Dreams softball stadium in Sun Lakes, where guests enjoyed yacht rock music by the On Pointe band. Admission was free, and donations were accepted at the event for the Stay Off The Ladder program. Stay tuned for their second annual music event now that the governor has loosened restrictions on public gatherings.
And look for their upcoming Lunch & Learn seminar series on topics of interest related specifically to seniors.
