Ten Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) members participated in a fly-in to Sedona November 20 when three aircraft converged on the Sedona Airport for breakfast. The Sedona Airport is known as the USS Sedona because it is located atop a mesa and is much like landing on a huge aircraft carrier.
Pilots, their planes and passengers included the following: Cannon Hill, Cessna 182, J.R. Scheidereiter and Bob DeLong; Steve Perkins, Piper Lance, John Philp, Gene Evans and Ray Weninger; and Dick Simmons, Cessna 182, Gary West and Tom Gorlinski.
SLAC is open to Sun Lakes and other local pilots and others interested in any aspect of aviation. The club takes several fly-ins and field trips each year. More information on the club is available from Bob Walch at 895-8869 or Gary Vacin at 298-7017 or at the club’s website at www.sunlakesaeroclub.org.
