Message from the President
Roger Beagle
April is here with Easter and warm temperatures to enjoy! It seems just last week we were celebrating the start of a new year!
The outdoor activities in our Cottonwood Palo Verde community: tennis, pickleball, and golf, have seen much involvement by our homeowners and guests. The clubs of each of these activities have completed most of their major tournaments and events for this season. Congratulations to all who participated.
There are many clubs and activities within our community that allow us to participate with our neighbors and friends, such as hiking, softball, traveling, dancing, computers, theatre, chorales, etc.
Another important part of our community that always needs the involvement of our homeowners is our board-sponsored committees. We have nine committees that meet once a month. They provide useful information and help the board and management keep our community functioning and maintaining efficiently. Without our committees, the community would not be as great as it is. Thank you to everyone who has served, is presently serving, and those who will serve in the future. Your time and efforts are very much appreciated!
My term as a board member for the past six years and as president of the board of directors for the past two years has ended. I have enjoyed my experience as a board member, and I look back with enjoyment. It truly has been a very rewarding experience for me!
As part of the board of directors, I have had the pleasure of being involved with numerous projects that have been completed, are in the process, or are in the planning stages.
Some completed projects in our community while I served as a committee member and as a board member are the Palo Verde patio cover, two renovations of the Palo Verde restaurant, Fitness Center, pickleball courts, enhancement of the Cottonwood restaurant, redesigning bathrooms at both Cottonwood and Palo Verde, refurbishing our community pools and tennis courts, and redesigning and updating of well pump stations for Cottonwood and Palo Verde golf courses.
A project nearing completion is the redesign of the old Fitness Center into the CLC project of meeting rooms, bathrooms, lecture hall, computer lab, glass studio, and storage areas. Stay tuned for the opening soon.
As I was elected by a community vote, I say, “Thank you to the homeowners for allowing me to be of service to our community. It truly has been a pleasurable and rewarding experience.”
I hope that everyone takes the opportunity to use and enjoy our lakes and greenbelts and the many activities and amenities throughout our community. Please be respectful of others and our amenities.
Remember to look for community information and updates in Management’s publications of “In The Know” and The Flyer.
