Cheers Trip Opportunities: Several Cheers members had the opportunity to enjoy travel combined with music and the arts. They were fortunate in recently having several venues from which to choose. One group recently returned from a river cruise on the Mississippi where they visited Memphis and several other river towns. This afforded them a chance to not only visit Memphis with its many music venues, but also to be exposed to the rich history of the region.
Another group traveled closer to home, going to the Prescott Bluegrass Festival. Still other Cheers members were off to Laguna Beach, Calif., for the Pageant of the Masters Festival. The Pageant of the Masters is a remarkable presentation of “living pictures” where the cast creates classical and contemporary artwork using innovative makeup and costumes, intricate sets, and state-of-the-art lighting. It is accompanied by a live narration and a full pit orchestra.

Monthly Wine Tasting: Once a month, a member of our group opens their house for wine tasting. Lorene Roberts leads this monthly social time. We try new and exciting wines, followed by a potluck dinner. We have 20 to 35 members join in this great socializing opportunity with friends, and we sample what may be new wines to some.
Cheers Golf Group: For the month June, we played Sun Lakes (Phase 1), Ironwood, Springfield, and Oakwood. Congratulations to Richard Lewin who got a birdie on hole 5 Ironwood on June 10. Congratulations to Fran Kelly who got a birdie on hole 2 of the Lakes course at Oakwood on June 24.
After each round, we get together for drinks and social time. If you enjoy golf and socializing, we would love for you to join us. You do not have to be good at golf. We are just out having fun and getting together to talk. All are welcome.
