The Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation (SLJC) will once again be having Twilight Services in September on Friday, Sept. 9, at 5:30 p.m., in the Chapel in Sun Lakes 1. Normally, SLJC only holds Twilight Services during July and August. However, owing to the fact that the High Holy Days don’t begin until the end of September, SLJC added the additional Service.
Rosh Hashanah Services will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, and continue on Monday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m., in the Sun Lakes Chapel. Services will be conducted by our esteemed Rabbi, Irwin Wiener. And we can never forget the outstanding music that our fabulous choir, under the terrific leadership of Lana Oyer, will be providing. Added to this will be the unbelievable voice of SLJC’s cantor, Ronda Polesky. It all adds up to a most wonderful celebration of the new year. The High Holy Days will end with Kol Nidre on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m., followed by Yom Kippur on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. And SLJC is beyond delighted to once again have an in-person Break-The-Fast immediately following Yom Kippur Services. It will be held in Cottonwood, and all the details regarding cost, reservations, etc., are in The Shpiel.
If you haven’t done so yet, don’t forget to take care of your annual dues, as well as listings in the Book of Remembrance. Details on cost and who the information should be sent to are also found in The Shpiel.
SLJC wishes one and all a most happy and healthy new year. And some terrific events are planned for the coming season. We’ll have more about that next time. Until then, Shabbat Shalom!
