The Sun Lakes Democratic Club will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 10, with great local candidates scheduled to speak on issues that impact your everyday life. We look forward to seeing you in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club, with a meet and greet starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Our meetings are always open to the public (masks are recommended). We offer in-person as well as hybrid (Zoom*) meetings. We also will continue food and/or monetary donations to Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank with a drop-off point in the parking lot at Sun Lakes Country Club.
Speakers for October:
Martin Quezada, Candidate for Arizona Treasurer
Mr. Quezada is a native Arizonan, growing up in Phoenix. He is a graduate of ASU Sandra Day O’Conner Law School and has served in the AZ Legislature in both the House and the Senate. He is running as the Democratic candidate for AZ Treasurer in the November election.
Javier Ramos, Candidate for U.S. House, CD 5
Mr. Ramos is the Democratic U.S. House, CD 5 candidate. Currently, the seat is held by Andy Biggs. Mr. Ramos is an Arizona native and an ASU law school graduate. He has over 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C., to protect voting rights, water issues, and education on tribal lands.
Jennifer Pawlik, Candidate for LD 13 AZ House of Representatives
Rep. Pawlik is running for re-election to the AZ House from LD 13. As a former educator, she has great insight for the educational needs of children and teachers in our district and state.
Cindy Hans, Candidate for AZ Senate, LD 13
As a former educator and principal, Ms. Hans is running for AZ Senate from LD 13 to also improve our schools and the funding they receive. As a long-time election worker and a member of the League of Women Voters, she also knows firsthand about elections in our state. Her opponent is J.D. Mesnard.
