Apple Club News

Gary Bross

Our December class of 81 members (largest class yet!) was on Passwords and Password Management, and it was very well received.

On Monday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m., class will be on the Apple Watch. We will introduce you to the key features of this smartwatch. In addition to the basics of making phone calls, sending text messages, and reading emails, the Apple Watch is an essential assist in monitoring our health as we age. Some key features are fall detection, sleep pattern monitoring, heart rate monitoring, step counting, and fitness tracking. We will also discuss customizing the watch face, using it as an iPhone camera remote, using it in finding your phone, and Wi-Fi-only or cellular models. If you are new to the Apple Watch or are considering owning one, this class is for you!

Space is limited, so RSVP at www.sunlakesappleclub.com/classes-and-events to join the class. We have begun planning for the ensuing months and intend to focus classes on the following:

Feb. 5: iPhone “Settings” and their very basic function of helping one control the way your phone (or any Apple device) works

March 4: Data Storage and File Organization will include device and iCloud storage and managing of mail, photos, documents, screen prints, downloads, etc.

April 1: Find My App and Air Tags to help locate devices, tagged items, and share location. It may include a class on Home Automation.

We will do our best to listen to what you want to learn more about.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN Tax ID 92-2120049). As such, we do accept charitable donations, but we remain a no-fee club, and we intend to remain so. We do not charge for classes, nor is there any annual fee. Our club’s mission is to provide a forum that is educational, supportive, and fun—where we can all learn to get the most from our Apple devices, regardless of our knowledge level.
