Jim Wegman, Publicity
The Men’s IronOaks Niners held its 2024 Fundraiser and Awards Luncheon at the Oakwood clubhouse on March 6. Here we honor the winners of our annual tournaments and award prizes to members, but the most important purpose is to raise funds for youth golf programs, and this meeting ensures that the great game of golf will thrive and grow.
President Anderson introduced the league members who make the league work so smoothly: Game Managers Bill Pender, Jack Baur, and Bob Cook; VP Jerry Richards; and our technical support specialist Bob Pender. The rest of the board and chairpersons are as follows: VP Len Dolins, Treasurer Bob Deken, Secretary David Mork, Special Events Chairman Jim Campbell, and Publicity Chairman Jim Wegman.
The program began with a PowerPoint presentation created by Bob Pender highlighting the events and activities of 2023 and introducing new features to the membership. Then we moved on to the fundraising. We were very pleased that Hamilton High golf coaches Steve Kanner and Jackie Walker were able to attend the luncheon. Coach Kanner was recently honored by his induction into the Arizona Hall of Fame.
Our Special Events chairman Jim Campbell and his team rounded up some great prizes to ensure a successful raffle.
