On March 11-13, 225 pickleball players participated in the IronOaks 2nd Annual Picklebarrel Classic. Each morning at 8 a.m. the courts filled with players ready to compete for the gold, silver, and bronze medal in each of the levels of play. Hot coffee, muffins, donuts, and welcoming greeters started the mornings off. Our talented announcers Joe and Tom provided lively music, event updates, and players’ court call. Joann, Irene, and Bev expertly kept the players organized and constantly playing and all details recorded to keep this competition moving!
At 11 a.m. the Grill was fired up, and lunch was prepped for players and guests alike! At 1 p.m. the roving cocktail cart arrived to provide ice-cold beer or glasses of wine. Six to eight different raffle baskets were raffled daily, sending winners home with a delightful basket full of treats. The 50/50 raffle provided a lucky winner with a pocket of cash every day. Ten vendors who serve our communities displayed their service or products and generously gave visitors gifts/giveaways. If you missed out on this amazing event, mark your calendar for the second week in March and join us next year!
We would like to thank everyone who volunteered, donated, or in any way supported this lively event!
See you all next year!
