Join in the celebration of Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 13 when Scandinavian friends and families are invited to an open house in the afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of Carolyn Hawkins where 500 Santas are displayed for your enjoyment. The address for this holiday event is 10011 E. Arrowvale Drive in Oakwood. A smorgasbord and beverages will be available on the table for your enjoyment.
In Scandinavia, Santa Claus is the most famous of the figures associated with Christmas. He is known as Jultomten in Sweden, Julenisse in Norway, and Julemanden in Denmark.
