The Oakwood Lady Niners attended the Invitational at Apache Wells golf club in Mesa. The Apache Wells Ladies 9 hole league always has a wonderful Invitational. Great golf and a terrific lunch make a great golf day. For those of you who haven’t attended an outside invitational, try it. You will love it.

It’s a great way to try other courses and meet some great ladies.

Summer play is here. There will be no more chits paid till the next official season which starts in November. You must sign up on the bulletin board in the lounge at the Golf Club, not on Chelsea. Barbara Solmonson will post sign-up sheets for Tuesdays in June, July, August, September and part of October until over seeding starts. Please put your name down for the tee time you want to play. Write your name clearly, there will only be threesomes. Please do not erase any name that is already listed on the sheet. You can add your name to any spot that is open. I suggest you take a picture of the signup sheet so you remember when you are playing. You and your golf partners can decide on what game you will play. Play a scramble, best ball, start from the 150 markerget creative. Have fun and hydrate!

Please mark your calendars for our Welcome Back coffee that will be held on November 3 at 9 a.m. in the golf lounge. If you know someone who is thinking of joining our league, bring them along. They can get an idea of what a great bunch of gals we have in our league.

Remember the best way to get to know people is to volunteer for a committee. Ask our president, Shirley Moore or vice president Deb Maxwell about committees. We always need help and everyone is welcome to do just that.

Remember to hydrate now that the heat is here. It is a good idea to have water with you no matter where you goin the car, in the market, shopping, etc. If you freeze a bottle be sure to empty some water out so the bottle doesn’t explode in the freezer.

Safe travels to all and those of you who leave for the summer keep in touch and write me a note with a picture if you are someplace fabulous or just local.
