The new season for the Agave Quilters Guild begins on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club (25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd). Anyone with an interest in quilting, textiles, or fabric arts is welcome to attend.
At this meeting, we will introduce our newest opportunity quilt, Eliza’s Vintage Treasures. This 73” x 84” reproduction quilt features block styles over 100 years old, pieced in traditional red, blue, and cream, and beautifully long-arm quilted. Tickets go on sale at the Sept. 2 meeting, and the winner will be announced at our Holiday Luncheon on December 2. All proceeds support the Agave Quilters organization.
Our Sept. guest speaker will be Merci Apodaca, who is returning by popular demand to showcase her striking Halloween quilts. Looking ahead, our Oct. meeting will feature Heidi Pridemore from The Whimsical Workshop, discussing Color Play for Quilters.
Annual membership is $25, providing access to our monthly guild meetings, guest speakers, educational and community service opportunities, and stash tables with free quilting goodies. Members are also encouraged to join our small friendship and special interest groups, which include art quilting, hand sewing, machine embroidery, machine sewing, and social lunches.
The Agave Quilters Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from September through May. For more information, please visit agavequiltersguild.com.
We hope you will join us to meet new friends and become a member.
