The summer months are slowly coming to an end, but members have still been keeping busy with crafts and sewing. Children’s Charities has stayed active this summer between all our trips to sewing centers.
Gail Moore delivered dolls to Amanda Hope, which is one of our Children’s Charities recipients.
In July, the members had the Teddy Bear picnic, which was attended by 16 members. Nearly 30 Teddy Bears have been made. All attendees had the opportunity to take home the pattern. The bears will be donated this fall to support our Sun Lakes Rotary to donate with them to Sleep in Heavenly Dreams. We will also donate 44 pillowcases made by our members.
We are gearing up to meet up on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Navajo Room to start our fall season! We would love to have you join us! We have new board leaders this year and are planning many fun events this season. We have a fall retreat scheduled for Halloween weekend. It will be Wednesday through Sunday, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, in Prescott, Ariz. We will be posting our fall class calendar with sign ups for members at our September meeting, so it’s a great time to be present!
