Our summers last longer than those in the northern states, but folks are traveling all fall and early winter. Some of you have booked Christmas Markets in Europe this year. We have had unusually low rivers this summer on the Danube and Rhine. This caused many cancellations and disappointments for clients.

Travelers have been to Iceland, sailed the Douro River in Portugal, and visited France for Normandy beaches. Trips also included the Galapagos Islands in June, and Alaska from May to mid-September. Many folks have already booked Alaska for 2027 and river cruises for spring and fall, avoiding July, August, and early September.

In other news, Savvy Travelers have a group booked with limited space left with Wind Star Cruises for March 20, 2027, in the Caribbean on the five masted Wind Surf. This is Windstar’s Flagship Sailing Yacht. All inclusive. I only have 10 staterooms left on the whole ship, which is 340 passengers. We also have a group started for the Baltics in May 2028 on the soon to be built Explora V, which is all inclusive. If interested, call or email and I will send a flyer.

I personally travelled with a large group (some from Sun Lakes) in Greece and Croatia the month of July. It was hot and humid in the afternoons, mornings were beautiful, so we all had to pace ourselves when we took excursions and drank lots of fluids. The ship Explora II is brand new and unique, with wonderful dining, many pools, good evening entertainment, and a slower pace. There are 800 passengers and 600 employees to look after us.

Savvy Travelers will kick off on Oct. 15, with Collette as our speaker to learn what they can offer our Sun Lakes travelers. Nov. 5 will be Princess Cruises. Our meetings and presentations will take place in Oakwood, at Poolside Grill and some will be in the Ballroom. If you are interested in being on the mailing list for event notifications, contact me at jeanette@dreamcruiseadventures.net here in Sun Lakes. Or call 6029092000 for help with travel. I am available here in Sun Lakes until mid-November, when I will be attending our National Travel Advisor Convention in Orlando.
