After nearly eight years of sharing this little corner of the Splash with you, it is time for me to say goodbye.
As I sat down to write this final column, I found myself thinking not about the many articles I’ve written, but about the peop;e who have read them. You have invited me into your homes each month, and for that I will always be grateful.
Over the years, so many of you have stopped me around Sun Lakes, called on the phone, sent notes, or simply shared a kind word about something I had written. Those conversations meant more to me than you could ever know. What began as a newspaper column became a wonderful way to connect with friends and neighbors throughout this remarkable community.
Life has a way of changing our plans. Because of some recent health challenges, it is time for me to step away from writing. While that decision is not an easy one, it is the right one for this season of my life.
I leave with a heart full of gratitude. Thank you for your encouragement, your friendship, your laughter, and for following me to share my thoughts with you month after month. Your kindness has been one of the greatest blessings of this journey.
Sun Lakes has always been more than just a place to live—it is a community where people truly care about one another. I have been fortunate to experience that kindness firsthand, and I hope my words have, in some small way, reflected the warmth and spirit that makes this community so special.
As I close this chapter, I do so with wonderful memories and sincere appreciation. I wish each of you good health, happiness, and many reasons to smile in the years ahead.
