Sew-N-Sews New Season

Peggy Abney

September 9 kicked off the return of Sew–N–Sews 2026-27 season. We have tons of fun and classes and education planned for this new season. You will be sure to want to join our group and meet many of our members, 152 to date!

Our educational program was given by Sun Lakes own Joyful Downsizer, Kim Kubsch! She provided many tips and tricks on keeping your sewing and craft rooms organized. Utilizing clear storage bins and project bags are a big help. We were reminded to stack vertically and keep things between knees and shoulders for easy visibility! Many other ideas and resources were provided as well in this wonderful presentation.

Classes for the rest of 2026 were rolled out, with lots of unique projects and instructors to sign up for. These classes are always open to our members, and we look forward to the show and tell at the monthly meetings.

We again are hosting another raffle from October to December, with January as the drawing. Up for grabs this year is a Viking 905 Huskylock serger, brand new in the box! This machine supports two, three and four thread operations, handling standard overlocks, flat locking and rolled hems. All the stitches you need in your sewing endeavors. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. What a deal for this nice machine!

The Sew–N–Sews will be at the three Sun Lakes communities open houses in October. Come stop by our table and get your questions asked and sign up to become a member, we would love to have you as part of our fun group.

You can always reach us by emailing sewnsews1@gmail.com or come to a meeting. We meet every second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Sun Lakes Navajo room.
