Heads up – The Rotary Pancake Breakfast returns to Oakwood Country Club on Sunday, November 8. As many have said, “Start your mouths watering now!” for one of Sun Lakes’ favorite annual events.
This will be Sun Lakes Rotary’s nineteenth annual Pancake Breakfast held again in Oakwood’s Ballroom. Breakfast will be served between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and, as in years past, it will be all-you-can-eat regular and blueberry pancakes with bacon and sausage on the side plus juice and coffee.
If there is one day on the yearly calendar when folks go out to breakfast, it is that day in November when the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes serves its famous pancakes. At $8 advance and $9 at the door, this is truly the best buy in town! It’s also an opportunity to take your friends out for a meal without costing you an arm and a leg.
While great eating is an incentive to participate, the main reason Rotary presents this event is to support its many charities here in Sun Lakes, in Chandler, in Arizona and worldwide. Virtually every one of the club’s 85 members work hard but many companies partner to assure success. There is a tendency to credit Rotary solely for this event when many, many local businesses are contributors. This year’s breakfast is no exception.
It isn’t just eating and spending time with old friends; it’s perusing the Silent Auction tables and participating in the several raffles throughout the morning.
