At a recent event promoting the Arizona Rangers’ fundraising for underprivileged children, officers were pleased to receive a check from Unity Church of Sun Lakes in support of their Shop With A Cop program. “Our church supports local nonprofits each month with a tithe (10%) of our gross income received from our members,” said Kate King-Turner as she presented the gift. “We saw a presentation at the CWPV Ladies’ Coffee a couple of years ago and have been earmarking our November gifts ever since. It’s a very worthy cause.”

The Rangers have been involved in providing Christmas gifts for children for more than 20 years. “This year we are increasing the number of youths that we will shop with to 50. Last year one little boy teared up and said, ‘This has been the best day of my life,’ after shopping with us. It’s really touching,” said Captain Ron Burchett.

Unity Church of Sun Lakes meets in the Arts & Crafts Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club every Sunday at 10 a.m. A non-denominational church, it welcomes all people to come and hear a message of positivity, light, and love and is devoted to helping people find their own personal path to greater spirituality.
