A Spiritual Journey: An Interfaith Celebration

Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation and Sun Lakes United Church of Christ

We live in a time when the challenges before us seem almost impossible to overcome. Many of us feel alone and isolated from human contact. Pastor Vernon Meyer of Sun Lakes United Church of Christ and Rabbi Irwin Wiener of Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation want to invite the community of Sun Lakes and South Chandler to join us for two presentations and an Interfaith Worship.

The first two presentations will be as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m. – Coping with Adversity

Understanding the difficulties we face and the miracle of coping. During these trying times, perhaps we need to concentrate on the best way to navigate from anxiety into a feeling of contentment.

Tuesday, Nov. 24, 11 a.m. – Gratitude

Is gratitude a gesture or a slogan? To truly be thankful requires a tolerance that will enable us to appreciate goodness and mercy.

These two presentations will be by way of a Zoom call-in, so contact the respective congregational offices for the call link and password.

Our final gathering will be as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 15, 11 a.m.

This will be an Interfaith prayer celebration honoring Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah. Through this collective celebration, we will better understand the meaning of salvation and redemption.

This celebration will be a live stream YouTube worship service from the Sun Lakes Chapel.

These presentations and worship service are open to everyone, and if you are interested, please contact Rabbi Wiener at 623-640-5913 or [email protected] or Pastor Vernon Meyer at 480-895-6317 or [email protected].
