AAUW SE Valley Announces Tom Pearson as Speaker in February

Mary Humecke

All local SE Valley women are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the AAUW SE Valley Branch held on the third Monday of the month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the IronOaks clubhouse in the Bradford Room.

On Feb. 16 our featured speaker is Tom Pearson, Dean of Workforce and Innovation at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC). Tom has played a pivotal role in creating innovative programs such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor technician, and aviation workforce training, as well as fostering partnerships with industry giants like Boeing and Intel. Tom will share the latest in STEM/AI offerings at CGCC and discuss how these outstanding programs benefit new and returning female students.

Just a reminder to mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the always-fun and delicious AAUW SE Valley annual Happy Hour Fundraiser! This exciting event will be held in the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom in Sun Lakes and offers multiple opportunities for everyone in the community to support and promote the continued STEM education of girls and women in our community.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets, which will be limited, or are associated with a business that would like to donate merchandise or a gift card, your supporting donation will be advertised at this well-attended local event.
