African American Association of Sun Lakes

Coming to Sun Lakes on Thursday, Dec. 8: Silhouette.

Save the date and buy your tickets early. There are no door sales! If you missed last year’s Christmas event given by the African American Association of Sun Lakes, you will not want to miss this year’s Christmas event. Because of last year’s big turnout of attendance, they are moving this year’s event to the Oakwood Country Club ballroom. This year’s entertainment will be Silhouette, a vibrant and versatile band specializing in jazz, Motown, and contemporary music. Also, Showtime Entertainment with DJ Kyle and Trish will be there for all of the line dancers.

Now is a good time to join and pay for membership to A.A.A.S.L.!

A.A.A.S.L. was founded Sept. 1, 2001, by a small group residing in Sun Lakes who wanted to connect, both culturally and socially, with others having like interests and backgrounds. As a group, one of their goals was to proudly showcase and share African American culture with other Sun Lakes residents, thereby achieving cross-cultural enrichment, which is so needed in today’s world. So, all are welcome. A.A.A.S.L. is a non-profit organization with the objective of bringing together in spirit of fellowship, individuals 55 years of age and older residing in Sun Lakes and within a 100-mile radius of Sun Lakes.

Annual events include golf and lunch outings, Jazz in the Park and BBQ, potluck events, Game Night, and Christmas Holiday Gala.
