Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self,” so when a member is declared winner of the annual Service Above Self award, he or she has accomplished something great. Such is the case this year. The Sun Lakes Rotary Club recently announced that Bill McCoach had received this award.
Chief among the credentials specified by Rotary for this award are: “The nominee must have demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service, in any form and at any level, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others through Rotary. Service rendered by the nominee through Rotary must have been on a continuing basis.”
Bill joined the Sun Lakes Rotary in February 2104, but has been a Rotarian for many years. In fact, he was an Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6690, a past president of his Cambridge, Ohio club and multiple Paul Harris Fellow. At his adopted club in Sun Lakes, he has taken on numerous assignments including Chairperson of the Club’s Strategic Plan, Chairperson of the new Fun and Fellowship Committee and Sergeant-at-Arms (with good jokes). During the coming year, Bill will serve as President-Elect.
He is a true jack-of-all servants. If a job needs doing, Bill will do it – with perfection.
Bill graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has two sons and one daughter. He resides in Cottonwood.
