The Don Neu Memorial Tennis Event was held March 12-14 at the Cottonwood tennis courts. All funds raised went to the Boys & Girls Club of Chandler and designated toward their tennis for youth programs. The event was open to tennis players from Cottonwood Palo Verde, IronOaks, Sun Lakes CC, Springfield, SunBird and Robson Ranch.
Cottonwood Tennis Club’s Tournament Director Jerry Higgins presented a check for $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Chandler representative Leon Ortega. In addition to the $1,000 raised, eight new rackets donated by IronOaks Tennis Coach Kwong were presented, as well as tennis bags. Gretchen Long, Manager of the Boys & Girls Club, was unable to attend.
Many Cottonwood Tennis Club members attended the presentation. After the presentation, CTC members assisted in a tennis training session with several girls from the Boys & Girls Club, encouraging them to participate in the joys of tennis.
