Breakers Pool League Annual Banquet

Peggy Mallen of O.G. Billiards with some members and guests

The annual Breakers Banquet took place in the IronOaks ballroom on Feb. 4. Forty-eight members and guests enjoyed a buffet preceded by a social hour with plenty of kibitzing.

In addition to numerous door prizes, the highlight of the evening was selecting the raffle winner of a fine Balabushka pool cue. The winner was Tera Crisalida, a league member.

The pool cue, with an MSRP of over $1,000, was donated to the league by Peggy Mallen. Peggy is the owner of O.G. Billiards (previously G Cue Billiards Store, which closed due to the impact of COVID-19). The O.G. Billiards retail pro shop is located in Chandler and features cues and accessories by appointment only. Call Peggy at 480-961-4000. Also, check out the website www.ogbilliards.com for a complete line-up of pool cues and accessories.

The IronOaks Breakers Pool League has organized sessions of 8-Ball and 9-Ball in the IronOaks clubhouse Pool Room Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Its approximately 50 members are residents of Ironwood and Oakwood and enjoy the camaraderie and socializing (and “mild” competition) in the Pool Room. If you are interested in our league, please stop in during an organized pool session and watch and meet some of our members. Also, join the play as a guest at some sessions if you’d like. Player skill levels are not important, and many of our members state that they hadn’t played pool for decades prior to joining our league.

Please don’t hesitate to call Gene Cole at 480-620-3165 for additional information.
