Mother Nature sure has a sense of humor when you plan an outing in the Superstitions! High winds coupled with dust makes for a quick change of plans for the Camera Club’s first summer meeting. Yet, the first of our summer presentations on “Elements of a Competitive Image” presented by Lynn Thompson won over the night precluded by socializing and dinner at the Cottonwood Country Club. Join us on Thursday, June 2 with part two; August 4 for part three, “Technical Elements” and September 1 with part four, “Judging and Critique” each held in the Ceramics Room of the Cottonwood Country Club.

The end-of-year 2016 banquet was a smashing success! Our evening was met with some beautiful print imagery and a feast fit for a king. Judy Daidone put on another beautiful night to be remembered. Alas, a reign has ended while another is just beginning with the induction of our new President Burt Williams along with our board of directors, as follows: Jan Ballard, vice president; Linda Davis, secretary; Karen Melching, treasurer along with Lynn Thompson, ACCC representative and Wayne Divoky, competition chair. Thank you John Livoti for your leadership over the past two years and success with your future endeavors with the PSA and ACCC. We look forward to your continued support as past-president.

Upcoming photo workshop on monsoons with Lynn Thompson will be held at the iconic national park, the Grand Canyon, in July. Lodging is filling up fast during this high tourist season. Members, contact Lynn Thompson for details and any questions you may have at 480-734-0040 or [email protected]; additional information can also be found at sunlakescameraclub.com.

Congratulations go out to our fellow members John Thoma, Mac Davey and William Lewis for our featured images. Each won Photograph of the Year, Print in their respective classes, C, B and A. Well done gentlemen. Look to sunlakescameraclub.com website for the upcoming results in the digital category.
