Card Makers to Focus on Advanced Techniques

The Card Makers of Sun Lakes group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. year-round, in the Arts & Crafts Room of Sun Lakes Phase 1. We often meet for lunch at the Sunset Grill in Sun Lakes Phase 1 at 11:30 a.m. prior to our meeting time. Each monthly get-together features a theme for card making and is led by a volunteer. Usually, we make three card “kits” using the featured theme or skill to share with the group.

Our group is looking for new members, so if you love making cards and are not a beginner, come by and check us out. There are no dues or fees. We also have ongoing fun ideas like our traveling mystery card: Our card maker “president” selected a theme, found a photo from a magazine expressing the theme, and designed a card around that theme. She then brought the card to a meeting and passed it on to another member, who then made a new card based on what she saw. She then returned the “original” card to the president, and at the next meeting, passed her card on to someone different. Later in the year, all cards will be displayed together, and we will see how different they all are. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Please consider joining us for lunch in March or stopping by during one of our monthly meetings. Call Johnie Scofield at 602-510-7995 for more information.
