Lesly Holness
We dance and it doesn’t feel like exercise because we are having so much fun! I play all kinds of music and the steps are easy to follow, all low impact. Totally exhilarating and you don’t even need a partner to dance up the floor.
Swing, shake and swivel, music is the heartbeat of my classes. I teach two classes at Cottonwood and two classes at Sun Lakes Country Club. The room at Sun Lakes Country Club is much bigger and they have a rockin’ sound system. Each class is one hour, but on the Thursday morning class I have added a free extra one-half hour to do some stretching. This will be a great opportunity to lengthen and relieve some of our sore muscles. We need to stretch more! This will improve circulation, flexibility and mobility, encourage relaxation and reduce stress. If you come to this class be sure to bring a mat.
We have also started using light weights, only one to two lbs. You can use water bottles or put sand in empty water bottles if you don’t have weights. It’s only for a couple of songs, but it sure helps with toning those upper arms. Very needed, right?
The cost of not following you heart is spending the rest of your life wishing you had. So come on, let’s dance! You know you wanna. Don’t worry about how you look or what other people think. If you stumble, make it part of the dance!
