Cottonwood Men’s Golf Association February Activities and Results

February was a very active month for CMGA members with two Ace of Aces qualifiers and the three-day Club Championship. On Feb. 5 an Ace of Aces Qualifier was played. The player with the lowest gross and the lowest net scores in each flight qualifies for the Ace of Aces tournament in early 2023.

The annual CMGA Club Championship was a three-day event with 18 holes, played Feb. 12, 19, and 20. The format was based on the age of participants. The Club Championship was open to all members, with the winner being the lowest gross score played from the blue tees. The Senior Champion was the player under 69 years of age with the lowest gross score. The Super Senior Champion was the player between the ages of 70-75 with the lowest gross score. The Master Champion was the player between the ages of 76-80 with the lowest gross score. The Legend Champion was the player 81 and above with the lowest gross score played from the green tees.

The Club Champion is Tom Kastelitz, with Bruce Beelman as runner up. The Low Net player is Jack Goyer, with Philip Carlson as runner up.

The Senior Club Champion is Steve Lowe, with Pat Conry as runner up. The Low Net player is Dan Paxton, with Scott Rogers as runner up.

The Super Senior Champion is Ed New, with Larry Frink as runner up. The Low Net player is John Perros, with Hank Clausen as runner up.

The Master Champion is Bob Lewis, with Jay Mays as runner up. The Low Net player is Bob Schaedel, with Ernest Soczka as runner up.

The Legends Champion is Charlie Gilligan, with Dennis Bockelman as Lowest Net.

On Feb. 26 another Ace of Aces Qualifier was played:

The month of March events included a two-day Ryders Cup team competition, a Pick Your Partner team event, a Cross Country individual competition, and a two-day Member/Guest flighted by handicap event.
