Do you enjoy taking day trips but hate the hassle of driving to get to your destination? Do you enjoy the beauty of our state and would like to find a way to see the wonders of our state hassle-free, with other Sun Lakes residents who share your passion? The Day Trippers may be just for you.

We are a new, non-organized group here in Cottonwood Palo Verde but open to all Sun Lakes residents who enjoy travel. We work with a local travel agency to plan day trips. We have several trips planned and are awaiting the itinerary from our travel agent. Some upcoming trips include Fountain Hills Arts and Crafts Festival and Desert Belle Music Cruise. The date of this trip is Nov. 10, 2024, at a cost of $135 per person. Trips offered by the travel agency are Verde Canyon Railroad and Uncorked Wine Festival on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, and Prescott Christmas Parade and Holiday Lights on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at a cost of $185 per person.

Trips we are looking to plan include Pima Air & Space Museum tour, Phoenix/Scottsdale city tour to include a Biltmore hotel tour along with touring the Capitol building, Desert Belle Steamboat tour, and Jerome (including Jerome Grand haunted hotel), to name a few. We will be meeting in the Computer Learning Center to discuss more possible trips. All are welcome to give ideas on day trips, dates to be determined.
