December at Ed Robson Library

Please join us for the following events in the month of December!

Friday, December 2 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Literary Bingo for Adults

Try our new twist on the traditional game of Bingo! Instead of matching numbers on a bingo card, you’ll be answering questions related to books and authors to win fun prizes. Registration required and limited to 25 attendees 18 and over.

Tuesday, December 6 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Swing into History: Holiday Music of the Big Band Era****

The big bands and singers of the ‘30s and ‘40s recorded surprisingly few holiday themed songs; rather, their broadcasts and records were centered on the popular tunes of the day. However, much of what they did produce was exceptional and these rare gems will be a part of this presentation. Join music historian Erik Larson and experience a program of Christmas music and little known historical narrative unlike any you have heard! Sponsored by Arizona Humanities and the Friends of the Ed Robson Library.

Tuesday, December 13 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Wine 101 – Types of Wine and Wine Pairing****

What’s the difference between a Merlot and a Malbec? A Chardonnay or a Pinot Grigio? Sommelier David Newton presents a fun, educational talk on types of wines and wine pairing tips. Come learn from an expert and make your next wine choice the perfect one for your palate!

Thursday, December 15 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Unwind at Adult Coloring Time****

Adult coloring is sweeping the country and we want you to experience this latest trend in relaxation at your own Branch Library. If you haven’t heard, adult coloring helps promote our general wellness. Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided. Program limited to 40 attendees. Pick up a free ticket when you arrive.

Friday, December 16 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Crafty Creations for Adults: Holiday Gift Wrap

Join us for a relaxing afternoon as we screen a classic holiday movie starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
