Democratic Club Wishes You a Happy Fourth of July

Roxy Banta

247 years of freedom—and counting! Happy Fourth of July from the Sun Lakes Democratic Club (SLDC).

Most Americans agree that a well-informed and engaged populace is essential to our freedoms. This starts with the education of our youth, making them fully aware of our political process and the rights and responsibilities freedom requires.

The Sun Lakes Democratic Club will be hosting a speaker from the Maricopa County Young Democrats, Ricardo Serna, to discuss engaging youth in the voting process. Also, Lisa Calderon, a speaker from Save Our Schools (SOS), will discuss the ESA Voucher issue and how it is expected to affect Arizona’s fiscal health.

Rounding out the evening, our LD 13 Arizona House Representative Jennifer Pawlik will update us on activities in the Legislature and take questions from the meeting attendees, offering her valuable insight.

SLDC is made up of like-minded individuals who are part of over 2,500 registered Democrats throughout the Sun Lakes area promoting an Arizona that works for everyone. We invite you to join us at 6:30 p.m. for a social hour, with the meeting starting at 7 p.m., on July 10 in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club, at 25061 E. Sun Lakes Blvd N., Sun Lakes.

We also invite you to attend our First Friday Coffee Social, held on the first Friday of each month at Kneaders at Alma School and Queen Creek Roads from 10 to 11 a.m. Members can also attend Thirsty Thursday with LD 13, held monthly on the third Thursday of each month. Check ld13dems.org/calendar for the location.
