It’s that time of year again when each HOA has an Open House to showcase the different clubs and activities available for all Sun Lakers. This year, we meet on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cottonwood clubhouse ballroom. The Desert Artists Club (DAC) will again have a table near the stage where you can come and visit us.
The DAC members have been busy creating beautiful and fun art this past summer, some preparing for Art at the Lakes next March. With fall officially here and some part-time residents returning, it will continue to be a time to inspire and be inspired. Artists new or not so new to Sun Lakes are invited to stop in and visit any Tuesday, in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood between 3 and 5 p.m., to see if this club is right for you to join. It is located near the golf Pro Shop on South Robson Boulevard and across from the library.
The DAC of Sun Lakes is open to residents who belong to any of the three HOAs: SLCC, CWPV, and IronOaks. Our club is a place where artists can come together and create art in a supportive and fun environment. We are a diverse group who work in many mediums, some of which are watercolor, oils, acrylics, colored pencil, charcoal, and mixed media. We bring our own supplies and work on an existing project in the company of others with the same love and appreciation of art. We have beginners and more advanced artists in our membership. We are a casual club with no dues or regular meetings. We have social events and participate in Art at the Lakes each year. We meet year round and welcome visitors to drop in and see what we are doing. By joining, you will have access to borrow art instruction books from our wonderful DAC collection, be on an email list for occasional notifications of extra events and club news, and you will be able to share in the delicious treats when we have our potlucks and Share your Art events. What’s not to like?!

See you at the Open House in Cottonwood on Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
