Welcome to October and all it shares with us here in the Valley. As artists, we appreciate the ever-changing landscape that nature gives us as an opportunity to express this beauty in many forms of visual art. It also means that our winter residents begin to return. We look forward to having them back in the club.
The Desert Artists Club (DAC) is a great place to enjoy the company of fellow artists and share in the fun and beauty of each other’s diverse talents. We meet each Tuesday afternoon, year round, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood. We are a casual club with no dues or regular meetings. We do have social gatherings when we bring treats and a Share Your Art time where we bring art pieces to display. Any artist within the three HOAs in Sun Lakes is eligible to join. Each artist brings their own supplies and projects to work on in their own medium, some of which are oil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, and charcoal, to name a few.
We invite anyone interested in seeing us in action to stop by any Tuesday between 3:30 and 5 p.m. as the best time. We have artists of all levels, from beginners to advanced. We are a fun and accepting group, so drop in and check us out. It just might be the club you are looking for.
Oct. 4 is the date for the Cottonwood Community Open House. We invite anyone to stop by our table, meet some of our members, and see some of their art. We can also answer questions that you may have. The Open House starts at 9 a.m. and goes to noon. We will be in the San Tan Ballroom. For further information about the club, you may contact me, Sue Sindelar, at sue.sindelar@gmail.com.
