Desert Artists Club Update

Creating art together is fun and inspiring.

Sue Sindelar

The Desert Artists Club members are enjoying getting together, creating many different styles of art and working in various mediums. We recently had a social gathering and casual meeting to discuss what we wanted as a group moving forward. Continuing our weekly group is a priority, and having occasional fun social times will also be on the agenda. We had a great turnout with members excited to be participating in this longstanding and diverse club. We have enjoyed artistic outings and occasional demonstrations in the past and look forward to including them in the future.

We invite any artist who lives within the three HOAs to join us each week on Tuesday afternoons, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Cottonwood Ceramics Room (A-8), across from the Pro Shop. We are a casual club with no dues or regular meetings. Bring your own painting or art supplies and join us to take a break from daily routines and stressors and work on one of your projects.

Remember to mark your calendars for the annual Art At The Lakes show and sale being held on March 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is held in Cottonwood around the lake across from the tennis courts. This event benefits our entire community. Look for the article regarding the Art At The Lakes in this Splash newspaper for all details. It is sure a fun and inspiring event with many beautiful art pieces for sale.

Any artist within Sun Lakes who would be interested in doing a demonstration of an art technique for our club would be welcome to contact me for additional information. They have been fun and informative in the past.

If you are new to Sun Lakes and want further information, you may contact me at [email protected] or 480-745-2198, and please leave a message. Feel free to stop in any Tuesday (except holidays) to see if our club is right for you.
