The Sun Lakes Rotary Club honors three of its members annually. In separate articles, Charles Loew was recognized as Rotarian of the Year and Peter Meade as Good Guy.

Longtime Rotarian Donald R. Prestin of Oakwood received one of the club’s highest honors as the winner of its Service Above Self award. To deserve consideration for this award, a Rotarian must have performed continuing humanitarian service. This award is intended to recognize especially those who actively help others through Rotary. It is not awarded solely in recognition of one’s performance in an elected or appointed Rotary assignment.

Before retiring, Don was an airline pilot for United Airlines, flying internationally for over 37 years. He joined the Sun Lakes Rotary Club in 2007 where he has served as its treasurer for several years. Don and his wife Janet are parents of twin daughters.
